He said that ‘Merry Christmas’ is for a special class of audience and it is also a commercial film. It can earn Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 2 crore on the first day. After this, the film can also benefit from word of mouth. There is no big release before ‘Fighter’ so this is a great addition to the ‘Merry Christmas’ collection.
Lowest opening film of Katrina Kaif’s career
If ‘Merry Christmas’ earns between Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 2 crore on the first day, then it will prove to be the lowest opening film in Katrina Kaif’s career. Earlier, Katrina’s film ‘Phone Bhoot’ had done a business of Rs 2.05 crore on the opening day. However, after the release of ‘Merry Christmas’, the correct figures regarding the first day’s earnings will be revealed.
